چکیده
Hydraulic fracture is crucial for assuring well production from unconventional reservoirs. For the optimization of hydraulic geometry and ensuing an interlayered reservoir, vertical propagation path has been analyzed. However, effective fluid channel cannot be formed if proppant unable to reach area where propagates. This paper presents a numerical model using lattice-based method investigate transport mechanism in The was simulated under different geological fracturing engineering factors. results indicate that interlayer Young’s modulus horizontal stress anisotropy are positively correlated with longitudinal carrying ability formations. injection rate optimal solution since too low unfavorable penetration interlayer, while high increases width instead further penetration. In conclusion, attention drawn fine particle size proppants used multi-layer reservoirs carry as far possible obtain maximum propped area.

Hydraulic fracture propagation: analytical solutions versus Lattice simulations
In this work, we used a grain-based numerical model based on the concept of lattice. The modelling was done to simulate the lab experiments carried out on the mortar samples. Also the analytical solutions corresponding to the viscosity-dominated regime were used to estimate the fracture length and width, and the results obtained were compared with the numerical simulations. As the analytical so...
متن کاملHydraulic Fracture Propagation near a Natural Discontinuity
The trajectory of a hydraulically driven crack near natural fractures, faults, and inhomogeneities has been studied using the complex variable hypersingular boundary element technique. The crack trajectories are presented for the cases of an oblique and a steeply inclined fault. It has been demonstrated that natural fractures, faults, and other inhomogeneities generate unstable fracture conÞgur...
متن کاملComparison of Different Hydraulic Fracture Growth Models Based on a Carbonate Reservoir in Iran
There has been little interest in the application of hydraulic fracture treatment in Iranian oil fields, thanks to the primarily suitable production rates of the vast oil fields. In this paper, hydraulic fracturing treatment was simulated by different models for a carbonate reservoir in the southwest of Iran. Suitable pay zones were nominated based on the lithology, water-oil saturation, geomec...
متن کاملNew Insight on Deformation of Walnut/Ceramic Proppant Pack under Closure Stress in Hydraulic Fracture: Numerical Investigation
This study is an attempt to investigate the mechanical behavior of proppant packs deforming under compression loading. A generalized confined compression test (CCT) was simulated in the present study to investigate the deformation of walnut/ceramic proppants against compression. In this way, the CCT was simulated using ABAQUS explicit code. Unlike ordinary CCT, we obtained permeability of compr...
متن کاملTransport efficiency and dynamics of hydraulic fracture networks
Intermittent fluid pulses in the Earth’s crust can explain a variety of geological phenomena, for instance the occurrence of hydraulic breccia. Fluid transport in the crust is usually modeled as continuous Darcian flow, ignoring that sufficient fluid overpressure can cause hydraulic fractures as fluid pathways with very dynamic behavior. Resulting hydraulic fracture networks are largely self-or...
